The duration of this qualification is dependent upon the candidates progress.
For candidates who need to demonstrate competence in recycling activities and collect, receive and process waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Mandatory units includes:
- Working Safely in the Recycling Industry (D/502/6219)
- Maintain Effective Working Relationships in the Recycling Industry (Y/502/6218)
- Maintain Standards of Service During Recycling Activities (L/502/6216)
- Environmental Protection within the Recycling Industry (J/502/6215)
- Manual Handling, Lifting and Moving of Loads in a Waste Environment (R/602/2078)
Learners must complete five of the optional units:
- Collect recyclables and other materials (K/602/0918)
- Operate equipment for processing of recyclables and other materials (H/602/0917)
- Dispatch recyclables and other materials (D/602/0916)
- Assist in the safe operation of work vehicles during recycling operations (Y/602/0915)
- Clean and maintain facilities and equipment for the processing of recyclables and other materials (Y/602/0914)
- Comply with procedure to maintain security of facilities, equipment and materials within the recycling industry (T/502/6243)
- Sort and Prepare and Other Materials for processing (R/502/6220)
- Assist in the maintenance of plant and equipment for processing recyclables and other materials (A/602/0924)
- Prepare plant and equipment for processing recyclables and other materials (T/602/0923)
- Operate and shut down processing plant (M/602/0922)
- Communicate with the public and others on recycling activities (T/602/0887)
- Encourage Recycling Services Through Promotion (M/602/0886)
