CIWM ProFile: Digital Continuing Competence Certificates
In February 2024, CIWM (WAMITAB) launched ProFile, a new ‘digital credentials system’ which provides a virtual, secure solution to verifying Continuing Competence certificates via a QR code.
This solution reduces the risk of fraudulent certificates by offering real-time authentication.
How does the CIWM ProFile work?
After successfully completing the Continuing Competence test at a Pearson Vue centre, learners will receive an email and text message outlining instructions on how to download their digital ProFile card.
The card can be stored on the Vircarda app, giving learners the ability to access their digital card anytime and anywhere. To check the credentials of a learner, you will need to download the Checarda app and once you have scanned the QR code on the ProFile card, this will show the details on screen. Both platforms are free to use.
Certificates
It’s important to note that the CIWM ProFile card will not be replacing the Continuing Competence paper certificates. Learners will receive both as a way to show their achieved competence.
This is an example of what your ProFile digital card will look like:

Those who sit their Continuing Competence test are now required to have their photo taken on the day of the test. These photos are taken every time a learner completes their Continuing Competence test and are used as additional evidence to validate a learner’s identification.
The photo is now transferred to CIWM by Pearson Vue and will be automatically uploaded to ProFile to be used as photo identification on the digital card.
