Congratulations, Sibelco on winning the MPA Health & Safety Award ‘Safer Together’
Putting the 'Zero' in Vision Zero: Sibelco's Zeropoly Wins MPA Safer Together Award
Sibelco has been recognised for transforming health and safety training through innovation, taking home the prestigious Safer Together Award at the 2026 Mineral Products Association (MPA) Health and Safety Awards.
As proud sponsors of the Safer Together category, we were delighted to see Sibelco recognised for a solution that is not only improving engagement with safety training but also helping to raise standards across the wider industry. The winning initiative, Zeropoly, is an interactive board game designed to bring health and safety training to life. Inspired by Sibelco's Zero Harm commitment and aligned with the MPA's Vision Zero strategy, the game challenges players to navigate workplace scenarios, identify hazards and make safe decisions as they move around the board.
Rather than relying on traditional classroom presentations, Zeropoly uses gamification to improve engagement, encourage discussion and reinforce critical safety behaviours. The result is a learning experience that is memorable, practical and easily transferable to real-world working environments. Zeropoly helps employees build knowledge, develop safer behaviours and support the shared goal of ensuring everyone goes home safe and well every day.
The awards presentation highlighted the impressive impact of the initiative, showcasing positive results among employees and successful implementation across Sibelco's international operations. The project also sparked discussion around one of the biggest challenges facing workplace training today: how to keep learners engaged while delivering critical safety information.
Zeropoly demonstrates that effective training does not have to be passive. By combining learning with interaction and teamwork, Sibelco has created a model that others across the sector can learn from and adopt.
Congratulations to Andy Price, An Buttien and the wider Sibelco team for developing an innovative approach to safety training that is helping to drive progress towards a zero-harm culture across the industry.
