New Driver Induction Process for the Mineral Products Industry

Created by MPQC and supported by the MPA , a new standardised driver induction process will be hosted on the MP Connect platform and will be a mandatory requirement across several larger companies within the mineral products industry.

By 1 January 2025, the driver induction process will be mandatory for all drivers entering Aggregate Industries (AI), Cemex and Breedon. Without completing the induction, drivers will be denied access.

Taking approximately 20 minutes to complete, the induction will only need to be completed once a year. There will be no need to numerous inductions for the same company because the drivers induction on the MP Connect platform will cover all participating sites. It will be supplemented by annual local/site-specific inductions that will also need to be completed by drivers.

The MP Connect platform will store records of completed Driver Inductions and this will be visible on-site. Visiting sites will be more efficient and safer for eligible drivers.

Additionally, drivers who are completing the MPQC Site Safety Awareness Course during October to December 2024, will benefit from the Driver Induction being included as part of the course. They will not need to renew the Driver Induction until 12 months after first completing the course.
